Artist’s that performed at the Native American Pavilion at NAMM 2011; Knifewing, Levi and the Platero’s, Murphy Platero, Chucki Begaye and the Mother Earth Blues Band, Gabriel Yaiva, Aaron White, Litefoot, Tracy Lee Nelson, Don Chapman, Blackfire, Victoria Blackie, Shawn Michael Perry, Gabriel Ayala, Micki Free, Alex Maldonado and Tim Blueflint. Over 90,000 thousand people attended the National Association of Music Merchants Show in Anaheim, California from January 13, 2011 thru January 16, 2011. This was a moment I will remember in my lifetime. The only way to describe this event is “Musicians Heaven”. There were thousands of companies displaying their products. It is practically impossible to see them all. For the first time in NAMM history, Native American manufacturers and performers were invited to attend and were given an area to showcase. The area was called the Native American Pavilion and proved to be a great success. Native American manufacturers were able to shop their product to representatives of major music companies. Native American performers were able to showcase their talent. Some even received product endorsement by major music companies. Knifewing Productions, Inc. dba Native Stars was contracted to manage the stage, provide audio and secure performing artists for the Native American pavilion. Thank you to Don Chapman and the Office of the Secretary, US Department of Commerce, Washington, DC and Melanie Ripley of NAMM for this opportunity. |
