Jim Boyd is from the Colville Indian reservation and leader of the Jim Boyd Band, a three piece group based out of Spokane, Washington. As a singer/songwriter, guitar player and lead vocalist, Jim sings about equality, justice, political freedom and manipulation, love and loss, Native American issues and his own 12 year commitment to sobriety.
At 23, he became a member of the Native American band, XIT. Suddenly he was playing for large audiences, opening for Cheap Trick and touring Europe. In 2003, he won the NAMMY for Best Pop/Rock Recording for“Jim Boyd & Kyo-T, Live!” Jim’s music has also been in movies such as “Smoke Signals”, “The Business of Fancydancing” and “Trust Me.” He also collaborated with friend and acclaimed writer Sherman Alexie on the album titled, “Reservation Blues.”
